FilmBar Film School

Monday, December 7, 2015 at 7:00PM

Film School is back!  Joe Fortunato ’89 will screen, discuss, and provide “live commentary” on Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly’s 1952 MGM Musical Classic, Singin’ in the Rain!

The evening will start with a brief discussion about the background and making of the film.  Then we will screen the film in FilmBar’s large screening room– think of it as a “living room book club” for film fans!  During the film, Joe will provide live commentary, giving you insight into the filmmaking process and how to “read” a film creatively.

After the film, we will discuss what we’ve learned and debate whether it lives up to its reputation as one of the all time great musicals.  Start your holiday season off early with this “feel good” classic!

(NOTE: While no “homework” or prior knowledge of the film or this movie is required, if you have never seen the film, you may want to watch it for the first time without interruptions of live commentary to “experience” the film as it was intended.)

Screening will start at 7:00PM, but come enjoy a casual happy hour beforehand!
Where?  FilmBar- 815 N. 2nd Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85004
